Wrench Rescue is a mobile mechanic based in Statesville, NC, run by Jared. We do the maintenance and repairs a good independent shop does — in your driveway.
Why mobile
Iredell County is spread out. If you live in Harmony, Union Grove, or out past Scotts, the nearest real shop is a drive, and then you need a ride, and then you need the afternoon. For a lot of people that means repairs get put off until something breaks on I-77.
We think the car should stay where it is and the mechanic should move. So we built a truck with the diagnostic equipment, the lifting gear, the A/C machine, and the hand tools to do most jobs on site, and we cover everything within an hour of Statesville — 45 towns and counting.
How we work
- Diagnose first, replace second. Codes are a starting point; we test the component before we quote the part.
- Written quote before any bolt comes off. If we find something else, you see it and you decide.
- Torque wrench on every fastener that matters. Lug nuts, axle nuts, caliper bolts, drain plugs.
- Correct fluids, not universal ones. Toyota WS, Honda DW-1, VW 507.00, Dex-Cool, HOAT — we carry what your car needs.
- Old parts in a box for you to see. Fluids and cores hauled away.
- Same price on Saturday as on Tuesday.
What's on the truck
A professional bi-directional scan tool, multimeter, cooling-system pressure tester, smoke machine, fuel-pressure gauge, battery and charging tester, A/C recovery and charging equipment, floor jack and rated jack stands, torque wrenches, and full metric and SAE tool sets. Common wear parts and fluids ride along; everything else comes from suppliers in Statesville, Mooresville, and Hickory, usually within the hour.
What we don't do
Alignments, tire mounting, rebuilds, dash-out jobs, welding, NC state inspections, and heavy-duty commercial trucks. We'll tell you when a job needs a shop and point you to one.
